HOW TO STYLE YOUR BOY-FRIEND JEAN'S

Boy-friend jeans are quite huge this summer. You're seeing them all over the runway, magazine's, tv, your favourite celebrity is wearing them, or even the girl next door! But as much as your loving this look, you're not quite sure how to wear them, or what to wear with them. Am I right ladies? Maybe you're a tomboy at heart who has yet to find her inner goddess, or someone who just doesn't know what looks good with what or just has a hard time no matter how hard they try! If that's the case please read on!

You can buy boyfriend jeans just about anywhere, all the trendy stores are already carrying them. They come in many different styles, colors, and lengths. You can also make your own!

Your boy-friend jean can be worn in many different ways. You could wear them casual, dressy, or as your part of your weekend wear! I'm going to show you exactly how to wear them  and with what!

First let's find your perfect fit!

Short & Sassy Girl- you need to look for a more tapered jean. The bottom will make you look more leaner! (and who doesn't want to look leaner!) Avoid anything to wide on the bottom.

Skinny Girl- being skinny has it downsides too, am I right ladies! She wants some curves too, so wear your jeans closer to the hips or (hipsters)with a wide belt will make your hips look a little wider. And if you want a little more booty, wear your boy-friend jean's a little baggier!

Pleasantly Plump Girl- a dark denim will hide our little lady lumps! Make sure there is some stretch in those jeans as you want to be comfortable, not so tight looking for that ever so confident woman.

Now that you have that perfect fit for your your body type let's decide what look want to achieve.

CROP PANT- means the jeans should come around your ankles. Could also cuff your jeans for that relaxed weekend look. Or wear to the office in non denim material. (that dressy look)

CAPRI- are generally worn just past your knee or mid-calf, whatever suits you. Also can roll up into cuffs.

MAKE YOUR OWN DISTRESSED BOY-FRIEND JEANS

Things you'll need:

-old pair of jeans you may already have
-scissors
-sand-paper
-book

If your using an old pair of jeans that are literally your everyday old jeans, you may need to fold your ends into a cuff, to your desired length. Sew at the seams one on each side so they don't roll down. (Optional to iron cuff)

Place your jeans or table and place a book between the back and front of jean. Rub your sand-paper in spots were you want to cut or distress your jeans. This will fade the area, don't press too hard as it can put a hole in your jeans, but hey that's okay too! Then start cutting were you want cuts in the jeans. Use sand-paper on the ends of the fresh cut to fray the ends and make it distressed. ( could also through in the washing machine to fray the ends you cut)

Here is a short video I found, that has another technique. Click to watch.
