QUICK HAIR FIXES

1.) I keep seeing new products for hair "anti-aging". What does this even mean?
Estrogen starts to drop in your mid 30's causing hair to "age" and become dry and brittle.  Products with vitamin B and fatty acids help to add moisture to your hair.

2.) How can I get my short-hair to grow???
Biotin can help promote hair growth. They come in supplements. Some natural products that can help hair growth are coconut oil, olive oil and mayonnaise.  Also massaging your scalp daily can
promote growth. Below are a few of my favourite beauty guru's doing a tutorial that I thought could help you out.
Also using Castor oil, coconut oil and even olive oil, massage on scalp. Doing this a few times a week will promote hair growth, just remember to stay consistant, results may take some time.

I take a biotin supplement for Hair Skin & Nails, it's in a gummi form...and soo tasty!!

Here is one of my fav Youtube beauty guru's ANDREASCHOICE. So sit back and listen to what she has to say.

3.) Should I switch my hair care regimen?
Yes, you should as your hair gets immuned to hair products, plus it's always good to try something new.

4.) Winter months make my hair dry and dull. What can I do to revive it?

What I do is I use a leave-in-conditioner to keep moisture in my hair. I also like to use a hair shine serum called BioSilk. It's always best not to over-wash your hair. What I mean by that  is.....don't wash your hair everyday because you can dry your hair out that way. Use a hydrating shampoo and only wash your hair once to twice a week. Longer is best but i know that most would rather do every other day. Also try doing a deep conditioner once a week. There are many recipes online, so check some out!

5.) HELP! I have split ends, what can I do to stop this?
Sorry, there's no easy way to say this, but split ends can't be fixed or mended. Even though there are some products out there that say they can help split ends, I'm afraid it's not a solution. You  may need to go to your salon for a trim, and get those nasty ends off!
What you can do to help this is use a deep conditioner on your hair about once or twice a month to prevent further damage. Try to minimize the stress you put your hair through like using heat styling tools such as hair straighteners, curling irons, blow dryer etc. And don't use plastic hair brushes, use one with metal or bamboo brush. Always use a heat protector spray on your hair. The
one I'm currently using is "Turn Up The Heat". I got this at Sally's beauty Supply store. But I also like to try different ones.

6.) How do I stop my hair from static...help!!
Try using a boar bristle hair brush. Metal brushes are good too. Use a moisturizing shampoo and only apply conditioner to the ends and not your whole head. Be careful that you don't use a lot of styling products such as hair spray which has alcohol in it, which can dry out your hair. Apply a hair serum, BioSilk or any other brand is ok, as this with coat the hair shaft and protect your hair from static. There are a few different anti-frizz products on the market that help.

These Kerastase sheets work like a dryer sheet. Just wipe on your hair. Not sure if they have these in Canada as I have not come across any, but will keep my eyes open for this product!!

7.) I recently colored my hair and it is very damaged. Is there anything I can do to restore it?
Well....this is a good question. The answer is yes and no. There's ways you can help it, but the ends will still look dry and fried looking. The only thing to do... is get it cut. A good cut can actually help your hair look better even if it's over-processed. Once you get the dry fried ends cut off it's best not to use a lot of styling products and heat tools on it.
I have over-processed my hair a few times, and each time I had to get my hair cut pretty short! And trust me when I say I will never do that again! For the first few months I  naturally dried my hair and if I had to blow-dry my hair I used a heat protector spray. Now my heat protector is my friend I use  before I blow-dry and before I use heating tools on my hair, and it's actually helping!!!
My favourite home remedy is mayonnaise. Just apply it to your hair and leave on for 45 min. And then wash out.

I just found a new product by Marc Anthony that  has coconut oil in it!!! I have the serum, works great!!

Well I hope this blog helps you out on your hair issue's. Big hugs from yourmaingirl!

Update: I got the hair serum and I love it, smells good and keeps my ends softer. Thanks Marc Anthony!
